What's In My Glossybox? - January 2014

Well both my regular beauty boxes came within a day of each other but as I've had a busy week I decided to space them out, plus it would give me something to open at the weekend.

Now out of my two boxes I've had my Glossybox the longest, coming up to two years this summer. For me the last few months haven't been the best but I'm persevering with them. The theme of this box is back to basics which it sticks too well.

So what did I get?

balance Me Super Toning Body Wash 50ml (Full Size: £10.25 for 260ml)
Another one to add to my holiday toiletries box. I've been browsing balance Me products in Waitrose for some time, but as I've banned myself from buying any toiletries (at least in the area where I have products stockpiled) I've resisted picking anything up. So this is an excellent product for me to try, I'm due a night away in February that will include a hotel stay and this item already has a space reserved in my toiletry bad. The one thing I can tell you about it now is that it smells lovely, almost tangy like ginger ale.

Yu-Be Moisturizing Skin Cream 2x3g (Full Size: £19.50 for 70g)
Now when I saw these I was rather excited, a multi-use cream, tiny little bottles and a big page on information. I cant't wait to try these. However, my elderly memory kicked in and I realise these seem familiar, I still can't work out if I've had these before but not tried or have just imagined it. Either way as I can't remember it will still be like trying a new product.

Now tweezers are always handy, I think these must be my second from Glossybox, nevertheless still useful as I always lose my tweezers transporting them from one room to the next. Instead my plan is to leave a pair in each room, this will help with this plan and these ones are especially pretty.

anatomicals puffy the eye bag slayer 2 x 6g sachets (Full Size: £6.00 3 x 6g)
I've tried similar products to this and I do find them very soothing, I haven't tried the anatomicals one before but I've been eyeing (I had to get that in) these up - mainly as I do like a good play on words (plus I love Buffy the Vampire Slayer). I'm planning a spa at home day in the next few weeks, these will come into play once I'm relaxing in the bath.

Vaseline essential moisture clean feeling lotion 50ml (Full Size: £2.99 for 200ml)
Now I know one of the perks of a beauty box is being able to try luxury samples, sometimes it is easy to get wrapped up in that and feel disappointed when a cheap, everyday brand pops up. A beauty box isn't just for luxuries though, it's about discovering things you may have missed. Now when I think of Vaseline I think petroleum jelly, I sometimes remember to have it in when I do my nails but I rarely make the effort and that is about it when it comes to the Vaseline brand. I would never think of picking up a moisturiser from them but I'm pleasantly surprised, not only is it a clean feeling light lotion but it also smells remarkably fresh. It also dries incredibly quickly and leaves the skin moist but not oily. I'm very impatient when it comes to moisturising, I never really do it as I hate waiting but this product does the job in half the time. I'll be picking this up when I next go shopping.

I've really liked this months Glossybox, I know some people may not find it that exciting but I have products I will get a genuine use out of as well as discovering a new product that is great value and perfect for me.

  3. I really like Balance Me products, they smell great. And that anatomicals product pun is brilliant haha (I also liked your own little pun in there!), I bet they work a treat.
Also, I agree that luxury is sometimes nice in a beauty box but finding new affordable products that work is just as good!

    1. I can't wait to use this Balance Me product, If I like it I'm definitely going to start picking up more bits - especially as I can get them at my local supermarket. I'm so easily swayed by puns! xx
